Open Ocean Robotics, a Victoria-based technology company, has finished a $2.8M investment round. The company plans to use the funds to support technological advancements, expand into Southeast Asia, and scale up manufacturing. The company uses drone-like boats to provide real-time oceanographic information to researchers and other users.
The Governments of Canada and British Columbia have promised more than $39M through the British Columbia Salmon Restoration and Innovation Fund to protect salmon in the province. Nearly $6M will go towards projects located on Vancouver Island.
