Guided by our?STRIDE?values - Safety, Teamwork, Responsibility, Integrity, Deliver, and Excellence - we foster a people focused on a culture of growth, mentorship and collaboration where safety always come first.? </p><p></p><p><strong>What You'll Do? </strong></p><p><em>Reporting to the Journeyperson Electrician, the Electrical Apprentice is responsible for assisting with the installation and maintenance of low- and high-voltage equipment within electrical substations. In this role, the Electrical Apprentice will gain hands-on experience in the installation of grounding grids, structural steel erection, and the assembly and repair of power system equipment. The Electrical Apprentice will assist with the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of high-voltage transformers and other related substation equipment.</em></p><p> </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities </strong></p><p>The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:? </p><ul><li>Assist in the day-to-day activities involved with substation construction </li><li>Work with high voltage equipment such as circuit breakers, transformers, and switches, voltage regulators, capacitor banks, P&C (protection and control) equipment and SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition systems) systems, human machine interfaces (HMI) and remote terminal units (RTUs) </li><li>Install time sensitive network and power cabling, including connection, location and documentation of all circuits, as required </li><li>Perform preventive equipment maintenance; scheduled, unscheduled and emergency requests </li><li>Perform maintenance, predictive inspections and testing on substation equipment </li><li>Develop work scopes, draft procedures and perform routine repairs </li><li>Comply, at all times, with Rising Edge Group operating and maintenance safe work practices, procedures and standards </li><li>Develop and maintain test and maintenance reports while working under a Journeyperson Electrician </li><li>Work with Journeyperson Electrician to install ground grids, power system equipment?s assembly and erection of structural steel </li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Additional Information? ? </strong></p><ul><li>This position supports projects throughout British Columbia and will require travel within the province.</li><li>This position is designated as safety-sensitive making employment contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, as well as criminal and general background checks. </li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Schedule & Compensation</strong></p><ul><li>Schedule rotations range from 4 days on / 3 days off?or?8 days on / 6 days off, etc.</li><li>Standard workdays are 10 hours (7:00 a.m. ? 5:30 p.m.)? </li><li><a rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external"></a>Overtime compensation will be provided in accordance with the British Columbia Employment Standards Act and/or applicable project agreements.<a rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external"></a><a rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external"></a></li><li>Out-of-town work includes either all-- Location Prince George, BC
