*Overview* We are looking for a creative, organized, and detail-oriented Social Media & Marketing Assistant to help grow our social media presence. This position is for someone who can work independently and enjoys content creation. This position is funded by the federal government through the *Canada Summer Jobs Program*. *Responsibilities:* *Social Media Content Creation* * Create, edit, and schedule engaging and visually appealing posts and reels for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. *Community Engagement* * Monitor social media platforms and actively interact with followers, responding to comments, messages, and other activity in a positive and respectful manner. *Basic Analytics & Reporting* * Track performance metrics such as number of likes, comments, and follower growth. * Identify high-performing content and areas for improvement. * Prepare and share weekly performance summaries with the team. *Administrative & Marketing Support* * Organize and maintain digital assets including photos, videos, and graphics in shared folders. * Assist in preparing marketing materials, documents, reports, and spreadsheets. *Office Administration Support* * Answering calls, taking messages, and redirecting calls. * Using office equipment like printers, photocopiers, and computers. * Schedule meetings for consultants. * Order office supplies and maintain inventory. * Greet and assist customer as they enter the building. * May perform other admin duties to support daily office operations, as needed. * Capture photos and record short videos for use across all our social media platforms. * Maintain a well-organized and strategic content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting. *Requirements* * *Must be between the ages of 18-30 years old.* * *Must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.* * *Currently enrolled in a post-secondary school for social media, communications program or a relevant field.* * Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. * Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel & Outlook). * Strong project and time management skills. * Must be able to work well with others and independently. * Demonstrate the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain a high level of professionalism. * Experience with managing several social media platforms simultaneously. * Experience with varies editing tools and apps, both for photos and videos. * Maintains a calm and professional approach when addressing negative social media feedback. * Social media portfolio an asset. * Customer service experiences an asset.
