Roots & Wings Therapeutic Services Inc. *Position Type:* Community-based Counsellor, Independent Contractor (Up to Full-time hours available) *Hiring:* Multiple Registered Social Workers part time and full time hours *Location:* Community-Based Settings *Rate: $60.00 - $80.00/HR.* *Start Date : July 1, 2026 * Please note: a drivers license and vehicle is required for this position as hours are completed in the community. Part of the role is transporting children and youth to and from sessions. Please only apply if you are a Registered Social Worker, or in the process of obtaining your RSW. Applicants that do not indicate such, will not be responded to. *About Roots & Wings* Roots & Wings Therapeutic Services Inc. is a culturally grounded, trauma-informed organization providing flexible counselling supports to children, youth and families. Our Community-Based Counselling Program focuses on meeting clients where they are within the community ? reducing barriers to care while strengthening connection, emotional wellbeing and resilience. *Position Overview* Roots & Wings is seeking Registered Social Workers who are passionate about providing relationship-focused, strengths-based therapeutic support in community environments. This role is ideal for clinicians who value flexibility, creativity, and culturally responsive practice while supporting children and youth with diverse and complex needs. *As most of the children we service are in school full days, at this time, we are specifically seeking Registered Social Workers who are available to support children in the evenings and weekends, with some day availability hours available for the right candidate. * *Key Responsibilities* * Provide individual counselling and therapeutic support to children and youth in community settings * Develop and implement goal-focused therapeutic plans * Support emotional regulation, social skill development, and coping strategies * Collaborate with caregivers and service providers * Maintain professional documentation and clinical case notes * Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development * Contribute to culturally grounded and trauma-informed programming *Qualifications & Requirements* * Registered Social Worker in good standing with the College of Social Work (required) * Experience providing counselling in community settings (required) * Have experience working with first nation children between the ages of 3-12 years old. * Experience supporting children, youth and families with complex needs is an asset * Strong understanding of trauma-informed, attachment-based and strengths-focused practice * Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team * Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed (required) * Valid driver?s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle (required for this role) * Clear Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Check * Experience with Word, Numbers and Sheets is a must *What We Offer* * Flexible scheduling * Meaningful clinical work in community environments * Supportive and collaborative team culture *How to Apply* Please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your community-based counselling experience to: admin@rootsandwingstherapy.ca Website: www.rootsandwingstherapy.ca (Coming Soon) Job Type: Freelance Pay: $60.00-$80.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 ? 40 per week Benefits: * Casual dress * Flexible schedule Work Location: Hybrid remote in Winnipeg, MB R3G 2X5
