You will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, using specialized tools and machinery, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision in the assembly of sheet metal parts. </p><p>Term: Permanent, Full-time</p><p>NOC: 72102</p><p>Vacancies: 3</p><p>Unionized position under Unifor Local 114</p><p><b><strong> </strong></b></p><p><b><strong>Duties & Responsibilities</strong></b></p><ul><li>Interpretation of Blueprints: Study and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to understand assembly requirements.</li><li>Sheet Metal Fabrication: Utilize various hand tools, power tools, and machinery to cut, shape, and form sheet metal components according to specifications.</li><li>Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections of assembled components to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to aerospace industry standards.</li><li>Precision Measurement: Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances, making adjustments as necessary.</li><li>Material Handling: Safely handle and store sheet metal materials, ensuring proper organization and inventory control.</li><li>Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the manufacturing team, including engineers and machinists, to achieve seamless integration of sheet metal components into larger assemblies.</li><li>Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment. </li></ul><p><b><strong> </strong></b></p><p><b><strong> Education and Professional Qualifications</strong></b></p><ul><li>Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is required.</li></ul><p> </p><p> <b><strong>Skills & Experience</strong></b></p><ul><li>2+ years of manufacturing, aerospace, warehousing or construction experience is considered an asset.</li><li>At least 1 year of experience as a sheet metal worker is required.</li><li>Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal fabrication machinery.</li><li>Ability to interpret and understand drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills (English).</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.</li><li>Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.</li><li>Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following all safety guidelines.</li></ul><p> </p><p> Position opening: Sheet Metal Mechanic</p><p>Company Name: De Havilland Canada</p><p>Business Address: 4100 Westwinds Dr NE</p><p>Calgary, AB T3J 4L2</p><p>Language of Work: English</p><p>Term: Permanent, full-time</p><p>Salary: $30 - $35.65 CAD per year, per collective agreeme- Location Sidney, BC
