Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Explain procedures. Operate X-ray, radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment. Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. Position patients. Supervise technical staff. Train technicians, assistants, students or interns. Perform diagnostic procedures using radioactive materials on biological specimens. Record and process results of procedures. Apply radiation protection measures. Explain procedures and side effects of radiation. Perform basic verification and quality control checks on radiographic and film processing equipment. Record and process patient data. Provide appropriate care and monitoring of the patient during the examination. Operate ultrasound imaging equipment to produce and record images. Supervision: 1 to 2 people.
