Manufacture and assemble water evacuation systems for buildings. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Select equipment for residential and small commercial construction. Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Prepare tenders and quotations. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Operate laser cutters. Utilize computerized quantity take-off. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Schedule work. Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification. Operate plasma cutters. Develop computerized pattern and layout. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment. Estimate costs and materials. Fit and join sheet metal parts.
