Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Select equipment for residential and small commercial construction. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Tight deadlines. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Judgement.
