*Job Overview*
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Swimming Coaches to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a strong, recent background in swimming and a commitment to educating swimmers of all ages and skill levels. This role involves developing training programs, providing instruction, and fostering a positive and encouraging environment for all participants.
*Duties*
* Educate swimmers on proper techniques, strokes, and safety practices in the water.
* Develop individualized training plans that cater to the needs and goals of each swimmer.
* Conduct regular practice sessions, ensuring that all swimmers receive personalized attention and feedback.
* Monitor swimmers' progress and adjust training programs as necessary to enhance performance.
* Organize swim meets and competitions, including preparing athletes for events.
* Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love for swimming among participants.
* Maintain a safe and clean swimming environment by adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
*Qualifications:*
*Minimum Requirements:*
* 19+ years old
* Hold a current NL award.
* Willing to commit to the full summer swim season, early May to mid-August, inclusive. Swim times are weekday afternoons between 4pm to 6pm. Coaches are expected to be on deck before swim times to ensure set up and take down of club equipment.
* Hold a valid BC driver?s license with access to a vehicle for mandatory out of town swim meet attendance.
* Have previous swim club experience.
* Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, training methods, and competitive strategies.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire swimmers.
* Ability to educate swimmers effectively, adapting teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
* Must be patient, enthusiastic, and possess a strong passion for swimming and coaching.
*The ideal candidate will also:*
* Have previous coaching experience (paid or volunteer).
* Hold a current Fundamentals Coach (formerly Level 1) or higher NCCP classification or equivalent.
* Hold a current SI award.
* Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus.
