Job IntroductionResidential Support Worker:Arden Professional Client Care is a purpose driven organization in supporting people with varying abilities. We are a 24-hour facility located in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Arden is committed to a transformative change in the delivery of quality of support. The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic individual who supports our vision of inclusion, independence, and acceptance of persons with varying abilities. All Arden staff will work shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Shifts will be 8 and 12-hour shiftsResponsibilities:The Residential Support Worker role is responsible for a range of supports working directly with clients which include, but is not limited to:Will assists clients in increasing daily living skills through implementing positive program plansIncorporate MANDT/NVCI techniques to assist with challenging behaviour of clients which may include assisting with crisis controlContributes to the daily operation of the program by adhering to Arden's policies and procedures and unit routinesDocument pertinent data in a clear, concise manner consistent with Arden standardsMaintain and promote good working relationships within the organization as a whole and with outside contactsComplies with and collaborates with continual Quality Improvement initiativesAs part of an interdisciplinary team, participates in the development and implementation of clients' individual program plansParticipates in Professional Development opportunities and in-service educational programs based on continued learning needsMust be committed to influencing change and enabling innovation and creativityTransport clients to and from appointments, training etc.Qualifications:Education in Social Services, Human Services, Residential Care Worker and/or at least 2+ years' experience in a similar field working with persons who have intellectual disabilities and behavioural challengesRequired to provide Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector CheckRequired to provide a Drivers AbstractRequired to have a working vehicle while on shift2 Million dollars auto insuranceMust have the 7 core competencies or take training immediately upon hiring that we will provide assistance with obtaining:First AidMANDT/ CPIHealth and Personal CareMedication AwarenessPositive Behavior SupportPerson Centered PlanningFire SafetyWhat we offer:Training OpportunitiesSalary: $24.33/hrCandidates selected for interviews will be contacted and expected to provide at least three references.Please note, only those selected for interviews will be contacted.Deadline for Applications: March 22, 2024 at 4:00pm
