Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Confined spaces. Dusty. Hot. Wet/damp. Work setting: Installation. Maintenance. Willing to relocate. Repair. Service. Testing. Troubleshooting. Generating substation. Tasks: Prepare production and other reports. Recommend measures to improve productivity . Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality. Supervise workers and projects. Co-ordinate and schedule activities. Train or arrange for training. Prepare bids. Estimate costs and materials. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Read blueprints and electrical schematics. Recommend personnel actions. Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Supervision: Power system electricians. 11-15 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Power System Electrician Trade Certification. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driving record check (abstract). Medical exam. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Fast-paced environment. Manual dexterity.
