WFN is dedicated to promoting a healthy and prosperous future to ensure its continued existence as a strong political, social and cultural community.Westbank First Nation values Equality, Honesty and Fairness, Respect, Integrity, Accountability and Transparency, Sustainability, Understanding, Confidentiality and Efficiency.About this OpportunityReporting directly to the Indigenous Infant and Child Development Coordinator, the Indigenous Supported Child Development (ISCD) Consultant provides family-centered service, early intervention, child development support, family support, and individual planning for children 3-12 with developmental disabilities or delays. This position works collaboratively with community child care programs and other child development and early years professionals. The ISCD Consultant is part of the Community Services team, specifically working in the Early Years department.Want to know more? You will? Works collaboratively with the Westbank First Nation {WFN) community, including the After School Program (ASP), Westbank Child Development Centre (WCDC), Sensisyusten, the WFN Family Program, and the WFN Wellness Team, to support children that require additional assistance to fully participate in activities. Provides support, consultation, and training for parents/caregivers and child care providers. Conducts developmental screenings and assessments when needed. Creates an Individual Service Plan (ISP) for each child. These include strategies and activities for inclusion, as well as daily activities and experiences to meet developmental goals and objectives. Coordinates services to ensure the best supports are being provided to the child and their family. Determines and monitors extra staffing support needs. Maintains comprehensive, up-to-date files for each child, ensuring necessary forms and consents are complete. Prepares and completes reports as required.
