Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Hot. Tasks: Clean work area. Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications. Clean and maintain equipment. Operate and control: electroplating equipment to coat metal, hot-dip metal plating equipment to galvanize metal and/or spray equipment to build up worn or damaged parts. Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes. Select appropriate paint or mix paints. Tend or operate equipment to prepare items for application of protective or decorative coatings. Tend or operate equipment to spray or coat. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Surface preparation methods: Chemical techniques. Masking. Sandblasters. Application methods: Hand-held spray guns. Equipment and machinery experience: Conventional spray painting. Type of industry experience: Aviation and Aerospace industry. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Hand-eye co-ordination. Handling heavy loads. Overtime required. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
