Position Title: Sanitation Operator Position Type: Regular - Full-Time Position Location:cust_locationNameRequisition ID: 33715 Summary: The Sanitation Operator is responsible for ensuring optimal execution of sanitation operations plant-wide and maintaining compliance with stringent food safety standards. This role requires operation of specialized sanitation equipment, a clear understanding of chemical management, and adherence to regulatory protocols. Essential Duties / Responsibilities :Drive sanitation ownership to the highest standards to ensure all Sanitation KPIs are within targets. Promote a culture of safety by reinforcing best practices related to chemical handling, PPE usage, and safe operating procedures.Act as food safety ambassadors by driving the Food Safety Influencers program.Drive MSS tasklist completion (on time and in full) for all sanitation-related activities, including boil-outs and plant-wide cleanups, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards.Operate sanitation equipment, including Portable Foamers, Gellers, Hotsys, Zambonis, Foaming Stations, and hose-repair equipment, ensuring safe and efficient functionality.Perform chemical analysis through titration, pH measurement, chlorine tests and quaternary ammonium levels to validate cleaning effectiveness and compliance.Drive boil-out downtime reduction through an optimized sanitation approachAccurately maintain documentation related to sanitation procedures, and chemical usage, ensuring compliance with internal and external audit requirements.Execute cleaning protocols such as high-pressure washing, scrubbing, deep cleaning, and waste management, utilizing the appropriate chemical agents and mechanical equipment.Oversee the preparation, distribution, and application of sanitation chemicals, ensuring all materials are clearly labeled, stored, and CFIA-approved.Drive continuous improvement activities in sanitation plantwide, engage in sanitation RCAs and drive implementation of countermeasures.Implement preventive and corrective actions in response to findings from routine sanitation and food safety audits.Demonstrate willingness to be cross trained in other operational areas.Monitor and ensure compliance with WHMIS and TDG regulations, particularly in the handling, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials.Maintain plant sanitation equipment through routine diagnostics, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance activities, ensuring operational readiness.Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)Basic computer skills. High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical certifications or specialized training in sanitation processes, industrial hygiene, or related fields are advantageous.Mechanically inclined and able to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.In-depth knowledge of chemical handling procedures, including WHMIS, TDG, and regulatory guidelines for industrial cleaning chemicals. Ability to interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and apply appropriate safety measures.Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills in a dynamic, high-temperature, and high-humidity environment.Thorough understanding of HACCP and AIB Gold standards.Must possess strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers, as well as ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.Mathematical ability to perform basic calculations. Must have proven history of safe work habits. Ability to work shift work when required- will be scheduled to work all cleanup and boil-out days.Required Length, Type of Experience & Licenses (if applicable) Must be willing to successfully complete Forklift, Confined Space, Personal Fall Protection and Scissor/Boom Lift training (minimum height requirement 20'). Must be able operate this equipment in a safe and efficient manner.Phy
