Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. Work site environment: Outdoors. Dangerous. At heights. Noisy. Cold/refrigerated. Hot. Wet/damp. Work setting: Fabrication. Various locations. New construction (Not pre-engineered). Re-vamp and renovation. Tasks: Signal crane operators to position units according to blueprints. Align, weld or bolt units in place. Unload and position steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification. Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Cranes (assemble, erect, jump, dismantle): Tower crane. Conventional hydraulic crane. Area of specialization: Erect structural steel. Assemble and erect metal buildings. Fabricate and repair ornamental iron and non-ferrous components. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Manual dexterity. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Hard hat. Safety glasses/goggles. Safety harness. Gloves. Personal suitability: Dependability.
