We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Pega System Architect to join our Digital Process Automation Center of Excellence (DPA CoE) team at Scotiabank. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the architecture design and review of Pega-based solutions, ensuring they align with the bank's strategic goals and technical standards. Our team is composed of highly professional Pega and Power platform developers dedicated to ensuring robust governance across these platforms. We define processes, establish best practices, identify risks, and raise concerns when necessary. We guide teams throughout their journeys, whether it's onboarding, migration, or decommissioning, ensuring smooth transitions and adherence to standards. Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: Lead the architecture and design of Pega applications within the CoE, ensuring they meet both functional and technical requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements, translating them into technical specifications. Oversee the development and deployment of Pega solutions, ensuring high-quality delivery within project timelines. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and team members within the CoE. Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Pega applications. Stay updated with the latest Pega technologies and industry trends to continuously improve the bank's Pega capabilities. Develop and enforce Pega CoE standards, guidelines, and best practices. Assess application performance and stability and provide recommendations on configuration and design changes to achieve positive results. Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have: Pega Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA) certification is required. Advanced knowledge of BPM concepts, techniques, tools, and delivery approaches 8+ years of experience in Pega development and design architecture (must have experience with Pega8+). Strong understanding of Pega deployment architecture. Very Good understanding of Case Management and having experience in creation of Enterprise Class Structure and Rulesets design. Strong expertise in integration technologies such as REST, SOAP, Email, JMS, File Listeners etc. Deep understanding in SSL communication (1-way and 2-way SSL) between Pega and external integrations Strong knowledge of Pega security and Authentication mechanism e.g. SAML, OIDC, OAuth2 etc. Good knowledge on common relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2) or similar database technologies Experience in Pega installation on on-premises or cloud infrastructure. Experience in Pega Upgrade and migration - on-prem, cloud (public cloud or Pega Cloud) Experience using analytical tools such as Splunk, Pega Diagnostic Cloud, Dynatrace Experience in working with Pega Deployment Manager (PDM) is a plus. Experience in working with Azure or Google cloud environment. Experience in the financial services industry is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to quickly analyze issues and provide solutions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with business and technical teams.What's in it for you?
