Nanaimo is truly an extraordinary community that is home to Vancouver Island University and is rich in parks, recreational, cultural and social amenities.Equipment Operator, AsphaltPosition OverviewThe City of Nanaimo is seeking a permanent full-time Equipment Operator, Asphalt. Under the general direction of the Supervisor, the incumbent carries out work in the operation, maintenance, and servicing of a variety of mobile, construction and maintenance equipment and related attachments pertaining to construction and maintenance of road right of ways, roads and laneways.QualificationsApplicants must have completion of grade 12, and a minimum of one-year related experience with asphalt/paving equipment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Applicant must have a valid BC Class 3 Driver?s License with Air Endorsement.Additional InformationThis is a CUPE bargaining unit position based on a 40-hour work week.
