Organization Structure
As the Medical Director for MDABC, a branch of Lookout Housing and Health Society, the Medical Director plays a pivotal role in supporting psychiatric medical services to enhance mental health and wellness outcomes for individuals with mood disorders. The Director works alongside and in conjunction with the Operations team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and contractual deliverables.
Summary of Responsibilities
The Medical Director of Mood Disorders Association of BC, a branch of Lookout Housing and Health Society, is responsible for establishing administrative procedures to ensure standards of care for the psychiatric clinic, group medical, and additional medical treatments at MDABC. The Medical Director is also the representative of the Psychiatric Clinic in communication with the College of Physicians and Surgeons. These responsibilities are outlined in the Practice Standard for Multi-Registrant Clinics (CPSBC - Practice Standard - Multi-Registrant Clinics). The Medical Director is responsible for collaborative consultation, advancing psychiatric services in the clinic, and may include administrative duties.
Scope and Complexity
The psychiatric services model at MDABC and Lookout requires a high level of teamwork, collegiality, and consistency of business practice among physicians practicing in the clinic This is for the sole purpose of a positive patient experience from referral receipt through to discharge by providing a broad range of services under one roof.

The Director collaborates with the MDABC team, healthcare professionals, stakeholders and partner funders or donors where appropriate to ensure the provision of high-quality, evidence-based clinical care through the medical clinic at MDABC adhering to the mission, mandate, and vision of Lookout Housing and Health Society.
Duties and Responsibilities:
_*Clinical/Medical Leadership*_
· Provide clinical/medical leadership to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards in the province of British Columbia.
· Collaborate with contract psychiatrists, psychologists, regulated health professionals, and other healthcare providers, where indicated, to deliver high-quality care.
· Stay current with evidence-based treatment modalities and research to maintain high standards of medical care and interventions at MDABC.
· Evaluate the scope and range of MDABC clinical/medical programs and recommend modifications or alternative approaches as appropriate.
· Address concerns and complaints from recipients of psychiatric services and represent the psychiatric clinic in communications with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
· Respond to emergency patient needs and ensure care coverage outside regular Psychiatric Clinic hours (CPSBC - Practice Standard - Care Coverage Outside Regular Office Hours).
· Collaborate with Lookout?s leadership team to investigate and resolve
