*About the Role*
Reporting to Chief Operating and Process Control Officer, the Production Sanitation Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the production areas of CRM. The Technician is also responsible for the safe handling and storage of chemicals as well as stocking and maintaining all sanitation equipment and supplies.
*Job Requirements*
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and have strong English language skills. The ability to read and understand written English and communicate in English both spoken and in writing is a requirement of the job.
*Job Requirements and Qualifications*
Highschool diploma or GED required
One year of relevant experience is preferred, ability to use tools and equipment and ability to perform the physical aspects of the job
*Key Duties and Responsibilities*
1. Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors, platforms, and other surfaces.
2. Clean and sanitize railings, handles, doors, and other high contact surfaces.
3. Remove all garbage to the designated areas.
4. Scrub and sanitize shoes as required.
5. Stock and maintain cleanliness and organization of all janitorial areas on the production floor.
6. Read, understand, and adhere to all chemical labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for proper, safe handling and storage.
7. Identify, recommend, and implement equipment and process improvements.
8. Perform regular daily routines with little or no direct supervision.
9. Complete all required documentation using good documentation practices.
10. Maintain a safe and secure work environment by complying with company policies and procedures including GMP, HACCP and safe working procedures.
11. Perform other duties as required.
*Working Conditions*
As a dairy processor and infant formula manufacturer, CRM strives to exceed regulatory requirements for food safety, quality, hygiene, and good manufacturing practices. All employees who enter the processing areas for any reason must comply with all food safety protocols in addition to health and safety best practices.
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment and include:?
* Standing, walking, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting and other physically demanding tasks performed for virtually the entire shift.
* Use of various chemicals (i.e. detergents and sanitizing solutions).
* Possible exposure to dust, fumes, oils, unpleasant odors, noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable, occasional exposure to ambient temperatures above 28 Celsius and high humidity. All relevant Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided.
* Exposure to physical risks using standardized safety precautions and equipment, including, but not limited to slippery surfaces, working around high temperature equipment, heavy and repetitive lifting, etc.
