We are a fast-growing food startup dedicated to producing high-quality, sustainable soy products sourced from locally grown soybeans on Quebec soil. Our mission is to promote a healthy diet and pioneer the development of alternative protein options that transform soybeans into nutritious and innovative food products. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Manager to lead operations in our startup facility and drive our growth.
*The Role *
The Production Manager will oversee the daily operations of our production facility in Mercier-Holcheaga-Maisonneuve region in Montreal, ensuring production targets are met while adhering to the highest quality and safety standards. You will play a crucial role in building and managing the production team, optimizing processes, and working closely with the Co-Founder and the Plant Manager to deliver exceptional products to our growing customer base. *Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:*
* *Operational Leadership:* Oversee and coordinate all soy production flow activities, ensuring schedules are met within quality and cost guidelines.
* *Team Management:* Lead, mentor, and develop the production team, fostering an environment of innovation and accountability.
* *Process Optimization:* Identify and implement improvements to production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain product consistency;
* *Quality Assurance:* Collaborate with the Plant Manager to ensure all soy products meet regulatory and company standards.
* *Inventory & Capacity Management:* Collaborate with the Plant Manager to monitor raw soy and other materials, ensuring inventory levels align with production demands and avoiding disruptions;
* *Health and Safety:* Maintain a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing health and safety protocols tailored to the soy production process.
* *Reporting:* Generate and present regular reports on production performance, highlighting key metrics such as efficiency, costs, and quality outcomes.
*Requirements*
* Degree in Food Science, Engineering, or Operations Management
* 5+ years experience in a fast paced food production environment, food transformation sector preferred
* Experience in team management and leadership with proven ability to build and develop high performing TEAMS
* OWNER mindset, flexibility and capacity to deliver in a startup environment
* PASSION for the field and subject matter
* Exceptional time management and organizational skills, self-starter with a high level of initiative and ADAPTABILITY
* Demonstrates HUMILITY throughout the company on a day-to-day basis
* English or French. We will give preference to bilingual candidates.
