*We are seeking an experienced and proactive Purchasing Manager to lead our purchasing department. The role oversees a Purchasing Agent and manages all aspects of procurement to ensure the efficient acquisition of goods and services, cost savings and vendor management. * *The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience in a similar role along with 2+ years offshore sourcing experience. She / He will have strong communication and negotiation skills as well as excellent attention to detail skills. Experience in manufacturing and familiarity with mechanical products is essential. Previous experience in the HVAC manufacturing (Infrared heater, Air Curtain, Fans, Controls) and Grills manufacturing areas is a definite asset, as they will be responsible for sourcing, managing and negotiating with Schwank?s suppliers and sub manufacturers. * _*The successful candidate will excel at maintaining productive relationships with internal stakeholders as well as external suppliers. They will utilize their contacts and research capabilities to find new supplier partners for the purposes of redundancy and new product development. That?s the environment we provide! *Responsibilities:* · Be the driver and negotiator of all pricing discussions with suppliers · Research and source new quality vendor partners, establishing supplier agreements for key vendors, setting up new suppliers in our system. · Build & Strengthen relationships with vendor partners and proactively manage ? order status, performance, lead time, quality. Supplier evaluation - quality checks, factory visits, sample checks. · Work closely with Research & Development to understand component needs · Purchasing responsibilities for both Schwank and Schwank Grills · Lead supply chain process improvements. *Qualifications:* · 5+ years of sourcing / procurement work experience · Over 2 years? experience in sourcing from offshore suppliers · Excellent negotiation and communication skills · Contact list of suppliers: Motors, Sheet Metal, Fabrication, Impellers, Controls, Gas valves, Air switches etc. · Experience in Manufacturing of Mechanical products. · HVAC and BBQ Manufacturing is a definite asset!
