Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Work setting: Bindery company. Relocation costs not covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Publishing house. Commercial printers. In-house printing, binding and finishing. Tasks: Set up and operate various specialized binding equipment and machines. Set up and operate various specialized finishing equipment and machines. Repair and rebind damaged or worn books. Operate automatic and semi-automatic equipment and machines to bind or finish print material according to specifications. Pack, weigh and stack bound and finished products on pallet for shipment. Perform pre-production runs of binding or finishing jobs to verify output and to ensure that product specifications are met. Equipment and machinery experience: Adhesive binder. Cerlox binder. Collater, gatherer or inserter. Cutting machine. Foil stamping machine. Folder. Laminating machine. Paper driller. Sewing machine. Stitcher. Trimmer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking.
