Quik's Farm Ltd. is a wholesale cut flower grower based in Chilliwack, BC, with over 20 acres of indoor and an additional 20 acres of seasonal outdoor growing space. Quik?s Farm is geared towards the intense production of cut Chrysanthemums, Oriental Lilies, Alstroemeria, and other seasonal crops utilizing state-of-the-art growing systems and leading-edge technology to produce high quality products for our diverse customer base throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest USA.
We are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be well-versed in This full-time position reports directly to the General Manager.
*Duties & Responsibilities:*
* Onboarding and orientation of new hires/roles for the Plant facility.
* Leading health and safety committee meetings and documenting compliance with standards according to WorkSafe BC.
* Coordinating events committee meetings, agendas, and assisting in planning staff events.
* Delivering first aid as needed and ensuring that the first aid room inventory is up to date.
* Collaborating with the Human Resources team on maintaining and/or updating company policies as needed.
* Creating and expanding on new training programs and materials including SOP?s, workplace training, etc.
* Prepare orientation for new hires by sharing onboarding packages and outlining company policies, and enrollment of new hires into the timeclock program.
* Supporting managers with scheduling and conducting performance reviews.
* Collaborate with the General Manager and management to perform other HR tasks as required.
* Assist the Temporary Foreign Worker Liaison as needed (details to be outlined)
* Provide weekly written reports on HR tasks and Health and Safety requirements (Friday report) and send them to the Human Resources Coordinator.
* Maintain up to date bulletin boards on workplace policies, and health and safety matters.
* Provide information as directed by the Human Resources Coordinator for monthly lunchroom PowerPoints.
* Actively participate in workplace celebrations, birthdays, and shoutout winners.
* Engage in creative culture practices to ensure our people adhere to our mission/vision statements and core values.
* Assist with special projects as needed.
*Educational Requirements & Qualifications:*
* High School Diploma Completion or bachelor?s degree in human resources or related experience as a Human Resources professional.
* CPHR Designation would be considered a key asset.
* 1-2 years in a Human Resources capacity.
* Occupational First Aid (OFA Level 3)
* Knowledge of WorkSafe BC Legislation would be an asset.
* Effective HR administration and people management skills
* Solid understanding of HR foundations and best practices.
* Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
* Meticulous attention to detail
