Basketball Instructor(Casual)Located on the traditional, ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, West Vancouver is a vibrant community on the North Shore and home to parks, beaches, and to sports, recreation, and arts amenities. We are seeking employees with a passion for public service who share our commitment to creating a complete, inclusive, and livable community.The West Vancouver Community Services Department has an immediate opening for a casual Basketball Instructor at the West Vancouver Community Centre. Reporting to the Community Recreation Program Coordinator, the ideal candidate is motivated, creative, energetic, and available to teach and supervise on Sundays from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Applicants must also have the physical ability to carry out the duties of the position and strong communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will possess Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification (or equivalent). Previous experience and knowledge of the rules and techniques of basketball are required. Previous experience instructing basketball, working with various age groups including youth and adults, and coaching certifications would be considered assets.
