Job details
Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Set up and adjust production machineries/tools. Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance. Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances. Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports. Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers). Set up and operate conventional and computer controlled machine tools. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Gauges. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Automatic lathes. Drill presses. Milling machines. Sawing machine. Surface grinders. Tapping machines. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Computer-aided design (CAD). Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Dependability. Efficient interpersonal skills.
