The ideal candidate will have a strong background in refrigeration systems and a proven track record of performing a wide range of maintenance tasks. Provide consistent maintenance and upkeep of all grounds, buildings, materials and systems of the properties, including Hotel Carmacks, the Tatchun Centre, and the Gold Panner Restaurant & Lounge. This role is based in Carmacks, Yukon. *Responsibilities* * Inspecting the condition of the property; maintain and promptly repair deficiencies * Pickup litter/debris during daily inspection of properties * Basic landscaping of properties * Snow removal, if and when required * Responsible for the testing of fire alarms and emergency systems on a routine basis as required by territorial laws * Identify and implement large-scale capital expenditures projects, often coordinating with contractors and third-party trades * Complete preventative maintenance procedures on a regular basis and maintain records relating to these services * Document and report immediately all deficiencies you are unable to fix * Meet with team daily, weekly and monthly; keeping entire team informed of property conditions * Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited resources/solutions exist * Must be able to respond to emergencies when not on site (not expected to be on call 24/7) * Ability to adapt to tasks as required * *Refrigeration Maintenance:* * Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration equipment, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and controls. * Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, oil changes, and filter replacements. * Monitor refrigerant levels and recharge systems as needed. * Ensure compliance with refrigeration safety regulations and industry standards. * *General Maintenance:* * Perform preventative maintenance on various equipment and machinery. * Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues. * Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment. * Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner. * Maintain a clean and organized work environment. *Requirements* * Trade qualification in one or more of the following: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or refrigeration is preferred * Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training an asset * Physical mobility and stamina * Experience working with contractors and sub-trades * Excellent communication, specifically written and oral English, and customer service skills * Ability to lead and motivate others * Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations * Experience forecasting and budgeting for a functional area within a property * Ability to interact with a broad range of personalities * Ability to collect, analyze and summarize information * Attention to details * Ability to work independently as well as in a group environment * Ability to prioritize workload and adjust to shifting priorities * Strong work ethic, respectful and reliable * Proficient skills in Word, Excel and Outlook * Valid driver?s license * Ability to pickup weight of up to 50 lbs * *Qualifications:* * Proven experience in refrigeration maintenance and repair. * Strong understanding of refrigeration systems and components. * Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. * Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. *About the Company* NVD is proud to be over 50% First Nations owned and over 50% Yukon owned, having several successful partnerships across the Yukon.
