Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Diesel Mechanic to join our team and ensure our fleet of trucks operates at peak performance. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maximize safety.
Responsibilities:
? Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmission systems, and related components
? Perform regular preventive maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, tire checks, etc.)
? Troubleshoot and repair electrical, fuel, and exhaust systems on commercial trucks
? Conduct system diagnostics using specialized tools and equipment
? Inspect, replace, and repair components such as belts, hoses, fuel pumps, and batteries
? Ensure compliance with safety standards, DOT regulations, and company policies
? Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and parts used
? Work efficiently to meet deadlines while maintaining quality of work
? Communicate issues and solutions clearly to team members and supervisors
Qualifications:
? Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in the trucking industry
? Strong understanding of diesel engines, truck systems, and diagnostic tools
? Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair guidelines
? Experience with various truck makes and models
? A valid CDL (Commercial Driver?s License) is preferred, but not required
? Ability to work independently and as part of a team
? Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
? Strong communication and organizational skills
Requirements:
? High school diploma or equivalent; formal diesel mechanic training/certification is a plus
? years of experience working on diesel engines, preferably in the trucking industry
? Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment, bend, and stand for extended periods
? Ability to work flexible hours and on-call shifts when needed
