The primary purpose of the position is to apply sound engineering practices to ensure smooth, consistent operations and to improve yields/recoveries while minimizing costs. This position requires significant on-site presence (>50%), in addition to remotely monitoring processes when off-site.Duties and ResponsibilitiesOwn process KPIs, and work with facilities to monitor, control and improve Assess and document process flows, and subsequently formulate and execute modifications to improveOptimize unit operations, identity and address automation issues to ensure process stability and efficiencyDocument and implement Standard Operating Procedures relating to process controlSupport and develop local teams to increase awareness and knowledge of the wheat starch and gluten manufacturing processSupport plant projects including the front-end loading (FEL) process. Lead the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and equipment commissioningDrive cultural change within a plant to ensure that plant processes are able to operate at optimum levels consistently over timePreferred Skills and QualificationsDedication to working safely and to the awareness for the safety of othersAbility to effectively coach and develop other colleaguesDeep understanding of a variety of process unit operations, specifically relating to wheat starch and gluten processShould have an excellent command of the following skills: computers, communications, problem solvingKnowledgeable of common process drawings and documentationOptimization and analytical processes and tools experience singExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with plant personnel and managementCommunicate status updates and suggestions for improvementsAdditional InformationWillingness to spend time in plant areas - tolerate extreme temperatures, walk long distances, stand, climb stairs and ladders and move through close spacesWillingness to travel and stay overnight away from homeAbility to work effectively on a team as well as independently while traveling to remote plant locationsEducation or Work ExperienceBachelor's and Master's Degrees in the fields of Chemistry, Food Processing, Production Manufacturing, Engineering, Technology, or other related field 2+ years of experience with process control in an industrial environment15+ years experience in Process/Project engineering, with relevant experience in wheat starch and gluten processing
