Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer. Workshop. Tasks: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems. Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit. Discuss work with supervisor. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect motor in operation. Review work orders . Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems. Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications. Perform scheduled maintenance service. Complete reports to record problems and work performed. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Apprenticeship training: Level two apprenticeship training. Level three apprenticeship training. Level four apprenticeship training. Area of specialization: Brake system. Truck-trailer repair. Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Dependability. Excellent oral communication. Reliability. Team player. Punctuality.
