*Job Summary*
We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team in the role of Plant Manager at PEI Mussel King - a key position dedicated to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant.
The successful candidate will require a strong understanding of food processing, industrial equipment operation/maintenance, and experience with developing strategies to optimize plant performance.
*Job Accountabilities*
* Direct and coordinate daily operations of the manufacturing plant.
* Develop processes to increase productivity and enhance performance.
* Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
* Monitor equipment and ensure they are in good working order.
* Oversee repair or replacement of plant equipment as needed.
* Maintain necessary administrative records, and prepare/review production reports. Oversee all levels of staff activity and performance.
* Screen, interview, and manage the onboarding process of new hires.
* Provide training and educational materials to staff as necessary.
* Ensure company policies and procedures are followed at all times
*Qualifications*
* Proven experience working in plant operations, preferably in the seafood industry.
* Strong leadership and managerial attributes.
* Experience with operating plant equipment safely and efficiently.
* Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues.
* Good understanding of regulatory requirements for operating a food production facility.
* Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
* Possession of a degree in science or related field.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other software.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Physically fit and capable of performing all assigned duties ? including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
* Permanent resident or Canadian citizen.
* Must have access to a vehicle - operation located 20 minutes from Charlottetown.
*Compensation/Benefits*
PEI Mussel King is offering the following compensation/benefits for this position:
WAGE RANGE
* Starting at $90,000 annual salary - based on industry knowledge and experience.
* Full-time Permanent position - hours will vary based on industry/seasonal demands.
