*BACKGROUND:*
SCO is a growing and dynamic regional First Nation organization that represents 33 Anishinaabe and Dakota Nations and more than 87,000 citizens in what is now southern Manitoba. Established in 1999 by the Chiefs, SCO is mandated as an independent organization to protect, preserve, promote, and enhance First Nation peoples? inherent rights, languages, customs, and traditions through the application and implementation of the spirit and intent of the Treaty-making process.

*OVERVIEW:*
Reporting to the Director of Jordan?s Principle and Disability Services, the Jordan?s Principle Manager works with the Director, Coordinators, Administrative/Processing Assistants, and families to ensuring First Nation children have access to the educational and health programs and services they require.
This job is responsible for serving as the direct supervisor and first point of contact for designated Coordinators, liaise with partner sites, and will approve Jordan?s Principle requests while providing back up to the Director, as required.
*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:*
· Provides direct supervision and guidance to a group of Jordan?s Principle Coordinators including coaching and mentoring, goal setting, identifying resource needs, providing training/orientation, assigning work, meeting deadlines, compiling reports, and conducting performance reviews
· Oversee Coordinators attendance and leave requests
· Serve as a secondary point of contact for questions or concerns regarding Jordan?s Principle requests or client files
· Reviews and provides decisions/approvals on Jordan?s Principle requests
· Addresses inquiries from the community and liaises with Jordan?s Principle Coordinators to provide follow-up or escalates concerns to the Director and/or to Indigenous Services Canada as necessary
· Serve as main point of contact for designated partner sites. Provide regular updates to Director as needed
· Attends networking and program meetings as needed
· Gathers data from Jordan?s Principle Coordinators and compiles into monthly reports for submission to Director
· Present team updates to Director monthly
· Serves as backup to the Director when they are away from the office
· Performs other duties as assigned
*EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:*
· Post-secondary education such a bachelor?s degree in social work or education is preferred; a degree or diploma in another related discipline may be considered
· Three years? experience working directly with Jordan?s Principle in a comparable role; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
· Experience working in a supervisory or leadership role including coaching, mentoring, and performance management
· Knowledge of the history and implementation of Jordan?s Principle
· Must have demonstrated understanding of First Nations culture and traditions with knowledge of the impacts of colonialism, Indian Residential Schools, intergenerational trauma, and systemic racism on First Nation education and children
· Knowledge of Federal, Provincial and First Nation education and health systems including traditional practices
· Team player with a ?families first? approach who can work collaboratively with a variety of people within complex systems
· Experience working with multi-sectoral partnerships
· Must be attentive to detail with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
· Must possess excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
· Must be able to work independently and under pressure
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
*OTHER REQUIREMENTS:*
· A current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
· Current and clear Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks
· PHIA Certification would be considered an asset
