A provincial leader in student achievement, Halton Catholic District School Board provides exceptional educational experiences and services to over 37,000 students of all ages across our 46 elementary schools, 10 secondary schools, and 3 continuing education facilities, serving the wider Catholic communities of Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton, and Oakville.<p>Please be advised that we are interviewing and hiring on an ongoing basis. <p>Designated Early Childhood Educators provide coverage to elementary school sites in Kindergarten.<p>We encourage all applicants to view our Careers website for more information about our Board. <p>Position Details<p><p> <p> <p> School Locations: <p> Halton Region - Burlington, Oakville, Milton, Georgetown and Acton<p> <p> <p> Effective Date: <p> Immediately<p> <p> <p> Salary: <p> $25.79 per hour (as per the Collective Agreement)<p> <p> <p><p>Job Summary<p>Reporting to the School Principal, in conjunction with the Manager and Supervisor, DECE, the Designated Early Childhood Educator will be responsible in accordance with the Education Act, The Kindergarten Program Document 2016 and Growing Success - The Kindergarten Addendum, to work collaboratively and in partnership with the classroom teacher to implement a play-based program based on the Four Frames. The program will enhance the children?s cognitive, language, physical, social, emotional and spiritual development. <p>Qualifications / Experience<p><p> Two year Community College Early Childhood Education Diploma.<p> Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.<p> Valid certificate in First Aid and CPR.<p> Knowledge of the Kindergarten Program Document, 2016.<p> Experience in planning, documenting and implement a play/inquiry-based program.<p> Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the community.<p> Proven ability to deal with classroom management, stressful and emergency situations in a calm professional manner, while taking appropriate actions based on Board policies and procedures.<p> Strong computer, organizational and time management skills.<p> Must be able to physically lift up to 50 pounds and provide assistance and/or supervision as it relates to toileting.<p> Capacity to engage members of diverse communities and skilled in a variety of consultation techniques, protocols and strategies<p><p>This position is covered by the C.U.P.E Local 5200.01 Collective Agreement.<p>Please be advised as a condition of employment with the Board, candidates will be required to provide the following documentation upon hire: <p><p> an original Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening, dated within the last six (6) months <p> a Pastoral Letter of Reference from a Roman Catholic Priest, dated within the last twelve (12) months <p><p>Equity and Inclusion<p>The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) is committed to supporting the development of a strong and equitable workforce, that will foster the success and well-being of our students, staff, and wider-Catholic school communities.
