<p>We are seeking creative, dynamic, committed staff to join our team as:<p>Elementary International & Indigenous Languages Program<p>Student Helper<p>INTERNATIONAL & INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES PROGRAM (Elementary)<p>The International & Indigenous Languages Program is mandated by the Ontario Ministry of Education and provides high quality instruction in non-official languages. The International & Indigenous Languages program is offered on Saturdays from September 7, 2024 to June 14, 2025 (33 Saturdays in total) and is attended by students from JK to grade 8.PROGRAM INFORMATION:<p>The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking to hire a casual Student Helper to work at the International & Indigenous Languages Program at Hopewell Public School on Saturday (8:30 am to 12:30 pm) mornings. Candidates will need to be available to work in-person at a school site on Saturday mornings. Duties Include but are not limited to the following: <p> Assisting with the registration process; <p> Helping with Microsoft Office and Google Apps tasks; <p> Helping instructors and admin staff with the technology (google meet, google classroom, google site); <p> Making photocopies and distributing supplies to classrooms; <p> Supporting instructors with activities and supervision of the students; <p> Attending meetings and/or professional development learning opportunities; <p> Reporting to the Site Principal of the IILP school site they are assigned to work;SALARY: <p> $16.20 per hour + 4% vacation pay for under 18 years old candidates <p> $17.20 per hour + 4% for adult candidates<p>The successful candidate will be appointed to a position for the remaining school year, 2024-2025. <p> Eligibility & Qualifications <p> Excellent communication skills; <p> Demonstrated proficiency in computer and word processing skills, particularly in the Windows system environment, Google enterprise and spreadsheet apps; <p> Familiarity with the photocopier; <p> Effective interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively; <p> Knowledge of a second or third language would be an asset; <p> Knowledge of Continuing Education programs and more specifically of the IILP; <p> Experience working with children would be an asset; <p> Experience working in a summer camp environment would be an asset; <p> Adding to the diversity and representation of the communities served by Cont Ed programs. <p> Knowing one of the languages taught at the IILP school site is considered an asset. <p> Having experience volunteering at the IIL program is considered an asset. <p> Application Process <p>All qualified applicants will be considered on the basis of qualifications, abilities, knowledge and experience.<p>Persons with disabilities who require accommodation in the application and/or interview process should email nectaria.karagiozis@ocdsb.ca.<p>The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board uses Apply to Education (ATE) to manage applications for job competitions.
