DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Are you looking to join a great team of fishing guides and spend a season on the water guiding tourists to the best fishing experience of their lives? Then you just might be the right fit for the Anderson's Lodge pro staff!
As a fishing guide, your daily activities will consist of several different duties including: taking groups of 2-6 out on daily fishing trips lasting 2 to 7 days, cooking your group a shore-lunch, providing any person(s) with advice or help in the art of fishing; cleaning, filleting, and freezing their catch at the end of the day. You will be responsible for the care of equipment such as the boat you are assigned and all the gear that is needed in the boat. Your biggest responsibility will be the guests, in which you will care for their safety.
REQUIREMENTS:
Expert knowledge in the various techniques of fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, and Musky.
The ability to learn several different bodies of water (with help from senior guides) in a relatively short period of time. You must be able to handle 16 ft boats with 20 hp to 25 hp tiller engines and 21' console boats with 150 hp engines and 9.9 hp kickers in a professional manner. The desire to be a team player is essential, along with possessing advanced communication skills. As a fishing guide, it is imperative to be dependable, energetic, responsible, and have the ability to adapt to various situations. You must have knowledge of all boating regulations and Ontario Sport Fishing regulations for Fisheries Management Zone 4. You must possess a valid Outdoors Card and Ontario Boater's Card.
Housing is provided at no charge, you do your own cooking. Included with your pay is 4% holiday pay and your own gratuities and a bonus at the end of the season. We offer direct deposit and pay on the 15th and end of every month.
