*Job Description:*
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team that is willing to learn and grow in a quickly expanding company. The ideal candidate will speak both Mandarin and English, have a solid background working in Mid and High rise residential building mechanical design, project management and thorough knowledge of Ontario Building Code, relevant code, standard and guideline.
*RESPONSIBILITY:*
* Commercial & Residential Mechanical Systems Design including HVAC, Plumbing and Sanitary, Storm, Fire Protection & Sprinkler Systems.
* Conduct field visits and assist in feasibility studies and create design criteria to meet client?s expectations.
* Create concepts and develop detailed designs, tender packages, and construction documents.
* Perform calculations and prepare drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical proposals.
* Assist in equipment sizing and selection.
* Read, understand, and apply Ontario building codes and CSA, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards.
* Assist in ensuring quality standards and project deadlines are met.
* Aid in problem solving of issues within projects administrated by Designers and Engineers.
* Able to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity at the same time.
* Able to work in a stand-alone capacity.
* Any other tasks assigned by Principals or Project Managers required to assist in the success of the firm.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
* Expertise with AutoCAD.
* Working experience with Revit is required. Any candidates without Revit experience will not be considered.
* Ability to develop and coordinate 3D construction models.
* Must be a team player with strong technical and communication skills. Must be fluent in the English language. Excellent verbal and writing communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects within a fast paced environment.
* Must have a *minimum of five (5) years* of related design experience in mechanical construction for building systems (HVAC and Plumbing).
* Having mid-rise and hi-rise residential and commercial building mechanical design experience within past 5 years.
* Strong working knowledge of Ontario building codes and CSA, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards.
* Ability to work and apply technical resources with minimal supervision.
* Superior computer skills including MS Office, AutoCAD, REVIT and other design tools.
* Willingness to learn and/or be familiar with various HVAC, plumbing systems and develop layout of pipe and duct runs in co-ordination with the structure, electrical and architectural components.
* The amount of experience would adjust the level of responsibility of the successful candidate's position.
* Strong understanding of mechanical construction, installation methods, technologies, planning and management, commissioning process, etc.
* Strong knowledge of all mechanical systems from both the design and installation perspectives including: HVAC systems, piping systems and plumbing systems.
* Valid Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.
* Valid Ontario Driver?s License.
