Hillfield Strathallan College is seeking a passionate and dynamic Communication Technology Teacher to join our innovative team. As a Communication Technology Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective instruction to Grade 9 students across three courses. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, pedagogical skill, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.<p><p> <p>Key Responsibilities: <p><p> <p> Plan, organize, and deliver high-quality instruction in Exploring Technology to Grade 9 students.<p> <p> <p> Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that align with the curriculum and meet the diverse needs of students.<p> <p> <p> Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to effective learning.<p> <p> <p> Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful learning atmosphere.<p> <p> <p> Demonstrate a strong understanding of communication technology concepts and applications.<p> <p> <p> Stay current with industry trends and advancements to integrate real-world examples into the curriculum.<p> <p> <p> Design and administer assessments to measure student understanding and progress.<p> <p> <p> Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic growth.<p> <p> <p> Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-disciplinary connections and contribute to the overall educational and co curricular experience.<p> <p> <p> Engage in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices and innovative teaching methods.<p> <p> <p> Integrate sustainability concepts into the curriculum where applicable. <p> <p> <p> Encourage and promote environmentally conscious practices within the classroom and the College community.<p> <p> <p> Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-disciplinary connections and contribute to the overall educational experience. <p> <p> <p> Engage in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices and innovative teaching methods. <p> <p> <p> Contribute to the College community through involvement in arts or athletics co-curricular activities and/or support and mentor students in extracurricular projects related to communication technology.<p> <p><p>Qualifications: <p><p> <p> Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on Communication Technology or a related field.<p> <p> <p> Proven experience teaching Communication Technology at the high school level.<p> <p> <p> Strong communication and interpersonal skills.<p> <p> <p> Ability to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.<p> <p> <p> Extensive experience using Adobe Creative Suite - including Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere.<p> <p> <p> Proficiency in Trimble SketchUp.<p> <p> <p> Knowledge and understanding of the Google Workspace.<p> <p><p>Qualified applicants are invited to send a cover letter and resume by Tuesday, January 23, 2024 to Hillfield Strathallan College at http://hsc.simplication.com/WLSBLogin.aspx- LocationHamilton, ON
