Casual Custodians <p>Livingstone Range School Division <p> <p>Livingstone Range School Division is accepting applications for Casual Custodians. A Casual Custodian may be called to cover full-time or part-time absences, assist in projects, or cover extracurricular events such as tournaments that may happen in the evening or on weekends. <p> <p>The Casual Custodian must be able to communicate and interact positively with the public, co-workers, staff, and administration to ensure all needs are addressed at the site. Casual Custodians must be able to work unsupervised. <p> <p>Casual Custodian work may include physical demands, e.g., lifting chairs, moving furniture or boxes of materials, cleaning equipment, and climbing stairs/ladders. The daily work routine involves the use of various chemicals.<p>Typical duties of a Casual Custodian include but are not limited to:<p><p> Cleaning thoroughly all washrooms, fixtures, and partitions<p> Washing of all desks, counters, doors, windows, etc.<p> All dusting in the school<p> Mopping, vacuuming, and waxing of floors<p> Securing of Division buildings<p> Garbage collection and removal<p> Preventative maintenance - tightening furniture or changing light bulbs<p> Snow and ice removal from walkways<p><p>This position will report to the Health and Safety Coordinator. The ability to work independently and secure the facilities is essential.<p>Requirements <p>Mandatory Qualifications <p><p> A High School Diploma or equivalent<p><p>Additional Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills <p><p> Demonstrated initiative and good judgement<p> Ability to build positive relations with staff that values a team environment<p> Capable of working alone and with minimum supervision<p> Organize work and adjust daily routine, as conditions require<p> Capable of performing routine and repetitive tasks daily<p> Display a good working knowledge of all chemicals/procedures used by caretaking staff<p><p>Fitness and Abilities <p><p> Able to stand or walk for extended periods<p> Able to lift and carry up to 22 kg independently <p> Able to work in a highly active physical environment<p> Able to work with a variety of chemicals<p><p>Conditions of Employment <p><p> A satisfactory police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment.<p><p>We thank all candidates for their interest; however, only those who will be interviewed will be contacted. contacted.
