Position: Full-Time Security Guard Site: Etobicoke General Hospital | 101 Humber College Blvd, EtobicokeAveraging Agreement : Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours Hours: Rotating Continental (0700 - 1900 / 1900 - 0700) Payrate: $18.25Posting Date: November 22nd, 2024Closing Date: December 6th, 2024Schedule Example: Week 1 - Days - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat Week 2 - Days - Sun, Wed-Thu Week 3 - Nights - Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat Week 4 - Nights - Sun, Wed-Thu Site Description: As Ontario's largest community hospital, Osler serves a population of over 1.3 million people living in one of the fastest growing and most culturally diverse regions of Canada. Serving the residents of Brampton, Etobicoke, and surrounding communities within the Central West Local Health Integration Network. Osler's emergency departments are among the busiest in Canada and its labor and delivery program is one of the largest in the provinceJob Description:Working on assigned shifts, you will work full time shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. You should display excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistance. In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Job Responsiblites: Assisting with mental health patients and patrons in the hospitalProactively responding to calls to support your team in a dynamic environment De-escalating crisis situations and handling emergenciesWorking on assigned shifts, you will work 12-hour shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidentsYou will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidentsRespond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient mannerDisplay excellent customer service skills and be able to work with people who are under stress or in need of medical assistanceThis role required you to be physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of timeWork closely with vulnerable populationsMonitor for and escalate security concerns within the HospitalProvide security presence and support throughout the HospitalUtilize verbal de-escalation techniques to manage conflictsWork closely with local Law Enforcement and Emergency ServicesEnsure safety of staff, patients, and visitors within the Hospital Highlights:Extensive Paid Industry TrainingBenefits & Other PerksOpportunities for Growth & Advancement Qualifications:Minimum of one year of experience in a security or related role is requiredA Valid Ontario Security Guard LicenseA WSIB Approved First Aid/CPR Level C Proficient in English (both oral and written)Vulnerable Sector CheckCOVID Double VaccinationImmunization Record (MMR ?
