Those teacher candidates, who are already approved EIPS substitute teachers, are to submit their change request for consideration via the Certificated Sub Preferences Update eForm (Subjects and Levels section and/or Locations section) in their online Atrieve profile instead of applying to this new job posting.<p>EIPS is recruiting multiple positions for the Substitute Teacher casual on-call 2024-25 for our French Immersion Schools. <p>Elk Island Public Schools French Immersion program offers robust, high-quality, linguistically and culturally rich learning environments where students, K-12, are engaged in becoming highly proficient in Canadas two official languages. Students who graduate from the program are well-prepared to be active and engaged citizens in todays bilingual and multicultural Canada.<p>The French Immersion program aims to prepare functionally bilingual studentsgiving them excellent English skills and the ability to comfortably speak and write in French. Students complete the regular Alberta Education curriculum (Language Learning, Math, Science, Social Studies, Phys. Ed., Music, Health and Art) in French, as well as a regular English Language Arts program.French Immersion is offered at the following EIPS schools: Fort Saskatchewan: cole Parc lmentaire (K to 6)<p> Rural Strathcona County: Ardrossan Elementary (K to 6) and Ardrossan Junior Senior High (7 to 12)<p> Sherwood Park: cole Campbelltown (K to 6), Heritage Hills Elementary (K to 6) and Sherwood Heights Junior High (7 to 9)Qualifications: <p> Bachelor of Education<p> Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate<p> Excellent communication skills in both French and English<p> Effective organization and classroom management skills<p> Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged<p> Excellent verbal and written skills<p> Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decision and/or instruction<p> Strong collaboration and teamwork skills<p> Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice<p> Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals <p>Elk Island Public Schools appreciates and considers all applications; however, we only contact candidates who are selected for interviews.
