Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Retail business. Wholesale establishment/store. Tasks: Direct and control daily operations . Plan and organize daily operations. Manage staff and assign duties. Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors' operations on sales. Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages. Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers. Conduct performance reviews. Supervise staff (apprentices, stages hands, design team, etc.). Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters. Establish work schedules. Assign sales workers to duties. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers. Organize and maintain inventory. Hire and train or arrange for training of staff. Supervision: 3-4 people.
