*JOIN THE NORTHWOOD TEAM!* Northwood is currently accepting applications for a *Term (9 and 12 Months), Part Time* *Housekeeper* to join our Halifax team! Reporting to the Manager, Environmental Services the Housekeeper performs cleaning duties while helping to support and provide a safe working environment. *Qualifications:* * Minimum of Grade X or equivalent. * Must be able to read, write, comprehend and follow through on specific instructions. * Ability to lift, pull, push and move heavy equipment and heavy furniture on a regular daily basis (50lbs). * Must be flexible and able to work all shifts: days, evenings and nights. These would include 8hr, 10hr or 12hr shifts * Good personal hygiene. * Must have regular and consistent attendance in accordance with the Northwood corporate standard. * Ability to work well with others including: co-workers, supervisors and residents. * Ability to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision. * Must have a minimum of 2 years work experience in the housekeeping field in a Long Term Care or Acute Care environment. * Must have knowledge of floor stripping, WHMIS, carpet care, and refinishing floors. *Responsibilities:* * Perform cleaning functions in assigned areas. * Collect and transport garbage, recycling with the ability to push/pull large carts. * Performs periodic floor and carpet maintenance in accordance with established procedures and prescribed techniques. * Maintains cleanliness, orderliness and general repair of equipment and work area. * Completes project/special cleaning, in areas as assigned by the supervisor. * Follows safe work practices. * Complete specific set-ups for special functions. * Completes office moves - transporting of desks, cabinets and other furniture from one area to another as requested by supervisors. * Other duties as assigned. *Hours of work: * *16 and 32 hours *bi-weekly (Varied shifts) If you are interested in this position, please click *APPLY!* To learn more about Northwood please visit our website *www.northwood.care* _*Northwood is proud to be an inclusive employer who encourages diverse applicants.
