*Description* Barber Collins security is looking for a part-time Security Guard to work nights at a clients facility in Guelph, ON. _This position will turn into full-time hours in the new year when the schedule will be subject to change. _ *Those who have access to their own personal vehicle will be given preference.* *Shifts*\* \*Shifts have a mandatory 2-week rotation * Thursdays from 11 am - 11 pm * Friday from 11 am to 11 pm * Saturday from 3 pm to 11 pm * Every Friday and Saturday. * _This position will turn into full-time hours in the new year when the schedule will be subject to change. _ * 12 hour and 8 hour shifts. * Days and evening shifts. *Responsibilities: * * Conduct regular foot patrols. * Protect company?s property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment. * Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences. * Monitor and control access at building entrances and vehicle gates. * Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment. * Access control for the facility/area. * Ensuring that the facility?s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to site emergencies. * Demonstrating judgement, common sense, and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents. *Skills:* * Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position. * Trained Security Guard with a diploma in a related field. * Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment. * Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols. * Surveillance skills and detail orientation. * Integrity and professionalism. * Ability to operate security equipment/systems, computers, radios, phones. * Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills. *Barber-Collins Security welcomes and encourages qualified applications from people with disabilities.
