*Company Overview:*
We are a dynamic company specializing in steel manufacturing, welding, and construction in Yellowknife, with additional operations in Nanaimo focused on construction, land development, modular home sales, pre-fab buildings, and coverall structures. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and dedicated *Human Resources Manager* to support our teams across both locations.
*Position Overview:*
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in HR practices, with a solid understanding of employment laws and regulations in the *Northwest Territories* and *British Columbia*. This person will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and performance management. The HR Manager will work closely with leadership to foster a positive work environment and ensure the company's HR policies align with business goals.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and training processes.
* Ensure compliance with HR laws and regulations in NT and BC.
* Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
* Handle employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
* Oversee performance reviews and employee development plans.
* Administer employee benefits and payroll coordination.
* Support managers in maintaining a positive workplace culture.
* Provide guidance on health and safety regulations specific to our industries.
* Manage HR documentation, including contracts, performance records, and legal documents.
*Qualifications:*
* *Minimum of 10 years of HR management experience*.
* Strong knowledge of *employment laws* and *HR regulations* in the Northwest Territories and British Columbia.
* Prior experience working in a construction setting.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* *Proven experience in recruitment and talent management*.
* Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
* Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
* Experience in construction, manufacturing, or related industries is an asset.
* Willingness to travel regularly between Yellowknife and Nanaimo is essential.
