*Job Overview* We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team in a long-term care home. The ideal candidate will have experience in the LTC and food service industry and demonstrate a strong understanding of food handling and safety practices. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in meal preparation and ensuring that our kitchen operates efficiently while delivering high-quality dishes to our guests. *Responsibilities* * Prepare and cook various meals according to established recipes and standards. * Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines. * Assist in the planning and execution of daily menus, including special dietary needs. * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items. * Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and quality control. * Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed. * Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols. * Stay updated on current culinary trends to enhance menu offerings. *Qualifications* * Previous experience in a LTCt or food service environment is preferred. * Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and safety standards is essential. * Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail. * Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. * Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required. * Passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that exceed guest expectations.
