The ECE Assistant I works with the ECE Instructor to develop and implement the Preschool or Group Care programs, including adhering to licensing policies and guidelines.Qualifications Minimum Secondary School Graduation and an Assistant Certificate from the Early Childhood Education Registry Program. Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care Diploma or other related degree or working towards acquiring your diploma would be an asset Experience working in a Licensed Child Care setting. Child Care Licensing Approved First Aid Course Licensing requirements include: must be 19 years of age, a certificate of health, three letters of reference and a criminal record check. Valid Class 4 BC Driver?s License would be an asset. Hours of work are based on operational need and may vary.Salary: Wage rates for Out of School Care Leader I are in 3 steps, $21.59 - $22.75 - $23.94 per hour. Wage rates for Early Childhood Educator Assistant I are in 3 steps, $22.75 - $23.94 - $25.18 per hour. (2024 wage rates).
