Whiting Equipment Canada Inc. is seeking a *Fitter ? Welder* to join our growing team. Reporting to the Fabrication Shop Supervisor, your duties will include Welding and Fitting of a variety of assemblies and vessels or various metals and alloys. and also be capable of working from complex drawings. *Location: *Welland - Onsite *Job Summary:* As a Fitter ? Welder, YOU will experience: * Working within one of the safest organizations in the industry where your safety and well-being are our most important priority * Working for the best-in-class equipment dealer * Opportunities to continuously Learn, Grow and Develop with our Whiting team through our internal Training teams that are geared for your success *In a typical day, YOU will:* * Demonstrate safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours at all times, in support of Whiting?s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives * Thoroughly understand and comply with Health and Safety, Quality Management Systems and Company policies. * Work from complex drawings * Operate various hand tools, such as but not limited to hand grinders, magnetic drills * Operate overhead Cranes and Jib Cranes *Must-haves for this role:* * Minimum Highschool Diploma * Must possess a high standard of quality in workmanship and be able to fit to tight tolerances. * Must be able to work effectively and efficiently. * Experience in FCAW, GMAW, SMAW welding processes is a requirement and any educational course?s related to fitting would be an asset. * To be able to multi task and assist with other roles when required. * Must be technically strong in blueprint reading and fluent in weld symbols * Strong background in structural fitting and welding will be considered as equivalent * If not certified a minimum of five years experience in fitting and welding of structural assemblies. * Previous or currently ticketed with CWB an asset. * Able to lift a minimum 22kg/50lbs. * Welding: 3 years (preferred) * Fitting: 3 years (preferred) *Working Conditions* * Shop/Factory setting with temperature variations * Standard hours with overtime or weekend work may be required to meet deadlines or complete urgent repairs * Exposure to dust and fumes * Heavy lifting, moving and assembling equipment and components * Significant amount of time walking, standing, climbing, * Exposure to noisy environment *Why Join Whiting Equipment?* * Competitive compensation * Permanent Full-time work plus overtime * Paid Vacation time * Weekly Payroll * Health Benefits 100% paid by the company, with Company Pension Plan * Work clothing provided and PPE provided * Onsite parking Job Type: Full-time Pay: $22.88 per hour Additional pay: * Overtime pay Benefits: * Company events * Company pension * Dental care * Disability insurance * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Paid time off * Vision care Schedule: * Monday to Friday * Overtime Work Location: In person- LocationWelland, ON
