Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: At heights. Noisy. Confined spaces. Dusty. Work setting: Machinery installation. Maintenance. Service. Repair. Machine set-up. Shopwork. Tasks: Assemble mechanical equipment. Coach and instruct apprentices. Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Repair or replace defective machinery parts. Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up. Perform routine maintenance work on machinery. Operate machining tools to fabricate parts. Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Installing machinery and equipment. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office. Welding techniques: Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG). Equipment and machinery experience: Conveyor. Electrical and electronic controls. Hydraulic system. Press brakes and metalworking equipment. Welding equipment. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Overtime required. Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
