Andersons Butcher and Burger Shack aims to be a 'one-stop shop' with a goal of providing the community with high quality, traceable and sustainable goods sourced from Canadian, family-run, and ethical farms. The focus of Andersons offerings is meat, poultry, pork, and lamb along with house-made sausages, deli and ready meals, pantry goods and custom spices. As a bustling butcher shop, we are looking for a proactive, friendly, and driven individual to join our team. That means, they?ll maximize production by completing tasks that our butchers and FOH staff can?t do on top of their own. This includes the washing and sanitization of dishes and equipment and assisting in the prep area as needed. For this part time position you *must be able to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 1:00pm to 6:00pm*. *As a Dishwasher/Preparer, you will be expected to:* * Maintain a clean and organized kitchen by properly washing and sorting soiled dishes. * Perform maintenance tasks including sweeping, mopping, organizing, and garbage removal. * Vacuum seal various products for sale. * Weigh spices and marinades for packaging. * Assist in upholding high standards of store sanitation and cleanliness. * Demonstrate a constant awareness of health and safety protocols and report any concerns. * Perform other duties as assigned and adapt to changes to meet company objectives. *What you will bring to Andersons?* * Knowledge of restaurant health and safety protocols including sanitary guidelines. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure. * Strong organizational skills. * Ability to work a flexible schedule and attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity. * Must have a strong work ethic and positive team attitude. *Position Requirements* * Grade 12 preferred, will consider skills and competences of past experiences. * 1+ years? experience in the food preparation or food service industry preferred, but not necessary. * Certificate of Conduct required. * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift/carry up to 50 pounds. * Comfortable working in a hot, humid, and noisy environment. * Capability to perform repetitive tasks and handle various kitchen tools and equipment. * Ability to bend, stoop, and reach regularly. *PERKS: *As an added bonus, we offer our staff discounted or complimentary delicious meals.
