*Position Summary*
The Machinist is a key member of our machining team, responsible for performing a wide range of machining tasks to produce high-quality components. This role requires a skilled machinist who can work independently and collaboratively to meet production goals while maintaining high standards of precision and accuracy.
*Roles and Responsibilities*
* _Machining Operations: Set up and operate CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, and other equipment to produce precision components according to technical specifications._
* _Programming and Setup: Program CNC machines, set up tools, and select appropriate materials. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during machining to ensure smooth and efficient operations._
* _Quality Assurance: Inspect and measure machined parts to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards. Make necessary adjustments to maintain high levels of precision and accuracy._
* _Production Management: Assist in planning production schedules to ensure that deadlines are met, and production goals are achieved. Monitor workflow and make adjustments as needed to maintain productivity._
* _Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on all machining tools and equipment, ensuring they remain in optimal working condition. Coordinate with external vendors for repairs or servicing as necessary._
* _Process Improvement: Participate in identifying opportunities for improving machining processes and enhancing overall department efficiency. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives._
* _Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production planning, and quality assurance teams to resolve technical issues and optimize processes. Ensure effective communication between departments to support production goals._
* _Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, helping to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team members._
* _Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain accurate records of machining activities, including production logs, equipment maintenance records, and quality inspection reports._
*Qualifications*
* Experience: Minimum of [2] years of experience in machining, with a proven ability to operate and program CNC machines, lathes, and milling machines.
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training in machining or a related field preferred.(NBCC apprentice program Blocks or Pre-employment course)
* Technical Skills: Expertise in CNC programming, machine setup, and operation. Strong understanding of blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
* Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with other departments.
* Communication Skills: Strong english verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of machining work.
* Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a manufacturing environment.
