This is a classified position. This is skilled work in automotive body repair and refinishing. An employee in this class performs a variety of skilled work in vehicle body repair and refinishing. Job Responsibilities: * 100% - Straightens dents in vehicle hoods, doors, quarter panels, fenders, or other parts of a vehicle requiring bodywork. * Can set up vehicles for straightening * Repair bumpers and other plastic parts * Body work & prep panel for paint Skills: * Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the body painter/repair worker trade. * Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade. * Ability to perform a complete body job from repairs to refinishing. * Ability to perform bodywork on large trucks, pickup trucks, road equipment, as well as automobiles. * Skill in the use of sanders, files, grinders, acetylene torches, port-a-power units, and spray guns. * Skill in mixing different types of filler, paints, and paint reducers.
